on this website. The owner claimed that it was the nicest Aero around. I asked him to disclose any issues that existed with the car prior to my FLYING to see it (I really wanted an Aero). When I went to see it, that wasn't quite the case. He had a few surprises for me. Rust, broken rear facia, tires, and a nasty ding in the hood. Other than that, the car was really in nice shape for a 94. It had the best interior I've seen to date in the that year car. The paint (red) was pretty good too. Engine compartment was clean. He had incredible service records. So I thought I'd live with the minor things and take it.

I paid his premium price for the car and not quite a year later I have an additional $5K invested. Worst of all, I'm only getting started. Looks like I'll be needing a head gasket in the near future. Am I happy? NO! I do still love the car though. Watch out for the tranny. Pinions seem to fail around the 130K mark. Mine did and I've read about plenty that have. Head gaskets, BPC, Hooter, Valve cover gasket and the little gasket where the distributer used to be, exhaust, suspension, COOLING SYSTEM!!!!!!!. As quasi says, if you've had an overheat you should change the timing chain guides as they become brittle afer an overtemp event. 9000s are not inexpensive to own, but I love mine just the same. My wife has an 01 9-5 and my mother an 03 9-3ss. I'd still rather drive my 94 9K Aero.

Don't trust anybody. Look over the car very good. EXAMINE the service records. I'd say have someone look at it, but I had mine gone over the day after the purchase and they told me the car was GREAT. $5K later, you tell me the value in the $150 bucks to have it looked at was. NOT!!!!!!!

Good luck. Pick one that has already seen these major repairs. The previous owner will be stuck with those losses. You'll love the car, but be prepared for a big repair bill.
