Easy to bypass the rear amp by splicing wires Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Mon, 18 Aug 2003 13:16:02 In Reply to: New Radio install help, JG, Mon, 18 Aug 2003 12:57:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I do not believe that there is a pre-made harness for this, but it's quite simple to do, not a lot of $$$. You need to get access to the output wires from the amp under the seat (may have to remove seat) - these wires go to the rear speakers. Run the two pairs of "rear speaker" wires from your new radio/CD player to these wires and make the four connections. You may want to disconnect the power to the amp, wrap the connector with some electrical tape so it doesn't short.
By the way, I might be interested in your old cassette radio - email me if you like.
