here is some wiring #'s:::: from 93 book
Controller: Chassis Grd #4, #624 Blk 4.0 mm
Input from motor #3 #644 Blk 4.0 mm
Power from junction with motor power #1 #621B Green 0.75 mm
Control input from ACC #2 #635 Blue 0.5 mm

Motor: #1 pin #621C Green 4.0 mm from fuse #6 glove box
#2 pin #644 from controller Black 4.0 mm

Yes a swap of blk's would reverse the flow direction and effect the performance. It may have fried the darlington or there may be a diode to handle neg spikes which may be passing max current and you could be ok.

A very simple thing to do ANYTIME (I never use memory cause it doesn't like me anymore and tells me the wrong things) is to sketch it out for reassembly later.

If the motor is ok and brushes are seated well there should be full batt at the controller pin #3 when it is diconnected. This just shows continuity thru motor.

All hooked up you can see what the voltage (should vary from full batt when motor off to low maybe of 1 volt when full revs) into the controller on #3.

Likewise #2 controller input from ACC you will see a variable voltage to control the darlington transistor.
