I too have a 93 CSE 5 sp NA. The cabin air sample fan can squal sometimes also. Its the bullseye square on the dash in front of the wiper stalk. US car.
Just a note. There are two idler pulleys that run the serp belt. To examine them the belt must be relaxed and then see how the idlers alternator, p/s pump feel when you roll them by hand. The idlers can go bad, throw the belt and the symptom is stiffer steering, alternator light comes one and since the water pump is belt run the motor will melt if you don't get it shut down ASAP. Mine went on the highway while heading to work one day and my Saab garage was able to use the same belt as it wasn't damaged. Lucky on my part. I shut it down immediately. Dad drilled it in me to watch our tractor engines closely, old habits.
