Tough question....

the Saab 9ks are truly unique.
The trick to 9k ownership is lots of preventive maintenance. If you wait for stuff to fail, then it seems like it's always something. If you accept the fact that periodically you have to drop $500 as a pre-emptive strike, then they will go long periods of time quite reliably.
On the otherhand I do spend quite a bit of my spare time on my 9ks, or as I'm fond of saying 'Saab 9000s aren't cars, they're a way of life'. So I can relate to what you're saying.
If you're committed to changing marques, there are a small handful of cars around that I would recommend. This is likely to ignite a lively debate on this BB, so I'll first open with a familiar question;
What are your goals for the car?
How do you rank safety, performance, maintenance cost, etc. How many people do you routinely carry, what kind of driving do you do, etc. Are you looking for a hobby car or reliable transportation? Literally a dozen things to consider and budget plays a part as well.
