Has most of it been due to things wearing out, or just preventative? For instance, why the axles? Also, what is a V1?
Funny you say you want Mille Miglia 17" rims. I sold a set of BRAND NEW Mille Miglia EVO-5 17" sometime ove the summer. It was a project I was thinking of doing, but decided to drop it in favor of other things for the car (interior wood door caps, boost&vaccuum gauge/oil pressure gauge/oil temp gauge, etc.). I sold them along with a BRAND NEW set of Sumitomo HTRZ-II tires (245/45-17, I think). The people who bought them got them at an excellent price since I was tired of having them hanging around my garage.
Actually, I still have a BRAND NEW set of hub adapters to convert the 4-lug hub to a 5-lug. I never installed them, so if you're interested, let me know and we can work out a deal.
I see you installed Zimm c-d rotors. I did the same thing in the front, and am now getting ready to install Brembo flat-faced because I cannot stand the groaning noises I get, as well as the brake fade when braking hard. People said c-d rotors are not the best thing, as well as you have to match them to the right pads. They don't seem to work with PBR Deluxe. So, now I will have a set of front rotors (with matched pads) to get rid of that only have about 5K miles on them.
I modified my '98 to a Stage 3, so it has the complete JT exhaust, BSR ECU, Hyperboost BPV from Stratmosphere, and a K&N air filter. I'm pulling close to 260hp, maintaining a minimum of 16psi, and all of this with an auto! I consistently eat up and spit out Audi's, M-B's, and Bimmer's. I have also smoked a Porsche that wasn't ready for the power my car has. The only limiting factor is that I wish it had one more gear to shift into. The 4th (or "D") gear basically limits how far and fast I can go. Then again, at that speed, I'd rather not go any faster!!!!
I'm waiting it fix my ripped c-v boot so that I can swap out my Dunlop SP5000 Asymmetrical's (205/55-16) for the set of Continental ContiExtreme Contact's (225/50-16) I have in my garage. The Dunlop's were excellent performers (for all seasons, actually), except that they don't last long (22K - 25K miles). Supposedly, these Conti's outperform the Dunlop's and are also made to perform in light snow.
I also installed PIAA lighting in the foglights, and Catz in the headlights. Definitely recommend that combo. Not cheap ($200 for all), but come extremely close to HID lights. Not blue or purple, just crisp clear bright white.
As much fun as I have upgrading the 9000, I cannot wait to jump into the 900. I already purchased the resistors and directions to tweak the APC box to bump up the turbo output. I want to swap out the exhaust for something larger, as well as I am in the process of ordering parts to upgrade the suspension. The one good thing about the 9000 suspension is that I have the Aero bits since Saab threw them into the '98. Speaking of the 9000 suspension, I also installed poly bushes from Abbott Racing into the front control arms, poly from SuperFlex into the rear sway bar, and poly bushes into the front end-links. Definite improvement over the Aero handling.
You will have to get in touch with me if you ever come visit your folks in CT. Would be great to meet up with you (joeaf@optonline.net).
