My 17 year old son has a couple 944s. Nice cars, they handle great and are fun to drive....for about 100 miles. After that the noise, stiffness and total lack of climate control starts to get to me.
9000s are a funny thing;
I'm at a point where I can have most any car I want. Sometimes I feel a little sheepish about driving a car nearly 10 years old. Right now among my neighbors there is a Lexus GS430, a BMW X5 a BMW 540, etc. I'm sure I'm viewed as 'the guy that drives old beaters'.
I think about other cars & test drive them often. There are lots of pretty nice cars around but I'm really not ready to be done with 9000s just yet.
I think the reason I like them is they do nothing to annoy me. I didn't like them that well as delivered from the factory, but once I got them dialed they're really pretty good. They make nice usable power, they're comfortable, they handle well and stop well. I can drive them day in and day out and not wish for something more.
