What does a short block come with? Posted by Ari [Email] (#2847) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ari) on Tue, 14 Sep 2004 05:37:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just picked up a '97 CSE that had a new short block and head put in about 50K miles ago. From the evidence, the first owner didn't do regular oil changes, and dumped it on the second owner just in time for the oil screen pickup to clog with sludge. Flickering oil light at idle, bad sounds from down below. The second owner had a new short block (8828832) Head assembly (9182304) and cams put in, along with a few other items like lifters, etc. That was a while back, and the beastie runs great. I'm owner number three.
I'm just curious if the short block and/or head comes with chains/guides. I'd like to know if they were replaced, too. All part of what has (and hasn't) been done.
