I thought of that but I fear not all will be replenished and some residual will remain. I think I'll have to take my chances and if the resevoir breaks it's better now than on the road somewhere. Yep, I'm a perfectionist.
I took my car in to the shop today [EuroTech] and they tell me the power steering is not the source of the noise [although they agree it needs flushed/refilled]. They claim it's likely a bad timing chain tensioner/guide. They say it's under the valve cover and they wont know what all might need repaired/replaced until they open it up. They are going to check the chain and everything else and advise from there. I need to dig through my records but I believe I had the Saab dealer do a timing chain service last year?
I prefer my Volvo's timing belt. Less noise and if it breaks [which it has once] it's a non interference type engine. Mine broke when pulling out of the driveway one morning and I feared the worst but it amounted to nearly nothing. I fear the Saab's timing chain set up so I need to be sure it's right. I fully intend on getting 400k out of it and my next oil change is at 350K :)
