but I think most experts would agree that almost anything you add to oil to control the viscosity will degrade the lubricating qualities under fixed conditions. Where the temperatures are constant a single viscosity oil is probably best. I notice that Briggs and Straton warns buyers to stay away from multigrade oil in their lawn mower engines.
