I have a 93 cse with 140k miles and I was going through the same "what ifs" that you are doing. High mileage and a headliner are not reasons to get rid of a 9000. A seized engine, massive transmission failure or the hood wrapped over the top of the car - probably. I drove a lot of 9-5s, and even though it's a newer suspension, I prefer the 9000. Every 9-5 rocked, not from front to rear, but from back corner to opposing front corner - namely LR to RF. I couldn't explain it, but the action, to me is there. The 9000, although it's older, has the better suspension. Now having written that, there are vast differences in how 9000 models ride and from year to year. My 87 T could out-maneuver my 93 which feels like it will roll over at low speeds. At highway speeds, the 93 is rock solid. So, it's the old cliché; beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
