that many miles... Are you the original owner? Been taking care of it? I think the rotors and pads are about 150 at eEuroparts, the exhaust system, depends upon what parts you need. Exhaust is easier to do on a lift, the rear brakes are a push on a lift or jack stand. I think you should be able to cut the bill in half...
Anyway, I'm on the left coast so no rust, but my 1992 9000CDTurbo Auto has 261K miles on it. Just carpooled with the wife to work this morning, 55-90mph as required. I've always spent the money as needed and have basically taken over all of the maintenance, except tire work, for the last 5 years. I drive the wheels off this car. If you like the car and it's already paid for, in reasonable shape... compare insurance and registration for new(er) cars as part of your RIO calculation... Even if you don't get 35 mpg it's still a better deal.
and if any of you think I'm full of something... email Mike Lynch, he know all about my seven saabs, I buy parts as needed from Continental Saab in Oceanside. I've threaten to buy a 9-5 Aero, used of course, but haven't been able to get out of my 900's and 9000's.
