DI missin under load

That is a true sign of the DI going out. I drove my car for about a year with it doing the same thing off and on, usually a tank of premium took care of it, before i had to replace my DI, shortly there after my hg blew so maybe coolant was finding its way in the chamber who knows. Now i've got my old DI hiding in the trunk just in case. Like i said in my previous post, "What we say here versus the mechanic", changing the DI and plugs takes all of at most ten minutes. Don't let the dealer charge you a full hour of service. All you need to do it is the proper starbit, a spark plug socket and wrench extension, and some di electric grease.

Take a look at that post i mentioned, i've included the link. I provided the best possible break down of doing everything your mechanic mentioned by yourself. As for the whole oil debate, snythetic is better for a sports car and deffinitely better for the turbo since it can hold up better under higher heats. I'm willing to bet somewhere in the archives of this board is a safe procedure for switching to synthetic, just my 2 cents.
