Are you sure that you aren't overboosting and reaching fuel-cutoff? If this was the case the car would jerk between 3rd and 4th feeling like it was the transmission when in reality, your car is reaching fuel-cutoff. But I think you would know if this were the case. You would be burning rubber every time you hit the gas from a stop light there would be so much power.
I thought the accumulator spring issue was with older model auto trannies, but I could be wrong.
