way cool. no worries. me too. and as I said I did through a CEL when the fitting on the under side (maybe backside) of the intake plenum blew out at night. the car reved all by itself, did weird things. So I suggested what worked for me in an incident that sounded similar to yours.
I just found one vacuum line eaten through on one of my 92 9000CDT autos, right under the battery platform. Silicon no less! The hooter valve had been kicking in too early for awhile and I inteneded to swap it out, what I consider an "up gripe". So I trimmed the vacuum line and put a straight through joiner in it. Guess what? Hooter valve no longer an issue, and boost is back! Smiling as I say this on my 92 with 252,000 miles on it.
So that was the reason for my check vacuum lines first, no slight intended.
Don't ya hate putting that belt back on?
