I haven't seen enough pictures of this car yet (and no good ones) to get the 'I want and need that car!' stage yet. So far it's only exploratory, but I have to say, the owner and repair shop owner have been super nice and extremely happy and forthright with me. The issues that most trouble me are the paint job (does it really look factory and will it be as durable?), and the used transmission that went in 7k ago, which supposedly had 80k miles on it. Also the fact that the slave cylinder wasn't replaced at that time seems curious to me. Now, normally with a used car you sort of factor in future repairs costs, even up to a transmission replacement a whole bunch of other stuff. But, many other 9000 that fit my criteria have an asking price of $5000 or less, not $7000, plus add to this one the expense of flying out and driving back home. There's certainly a lot to consider! On the other hand, a '98 CSE listed at a dealer, about 1/3 as far away, has an asking price of $8500, and may be in no better shape (mileage is similar).
The perfect car hasn't yet materialized - 1996 or 1997 silver Aero with grey interior and manual transmission.
