I appreciate the input. I'm thinking I'm going to get some quarter inch weldable steel and bent it to the contour of the tower. I tried to make up an illustration, do you think this plan will work? The bracket will be laid into position after the shock is removed and the rust is ground out and por-15'd to the best of my ability. I will then make a hole for the shock to mount in and lay fiberglass resin all around to close the leftover space. Also, I spray undercoating inside the fender to prevent water from getting into the area.
