95 aero CEL - 1 O2 sensor or 2? Posted by Henry Helfman [Email] (#787) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Henry Helfman) on Thu, 6 Dec 2007 10:49:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
While parked today (key on engine off) I noticed my CEL blinking for the first time. It hasn't ever come on with the engine on (as of yet) in the 35,000 miles I have had the car. It was blinking 6 times which I believe to be the O2 sensor. My car is a 1995 (1 year pre-OBDII) so can anybody confirm that it's a 1 o2 sensor car?
I do have a recent slight exhaust leak from (I presume to be) my flex section. It's been too cold to check in detail. I just ordered a set of new engine mounts to replace first before doing that. Perhaps the open exhaust section is causing mixture to be slightly off in the exhaust system though it may just be due. Eeuroparts wants $262 and Oxygengeek.com wants $30 for a generic you-splice-it. Should I go for some middle ground or can I go the cheap route?
Engine runs fine. In the past 9 years of maintaining a 9000 I've never actually replaced an o2 sensor.
