I have not actually tried the Bosch/Ford sensor on my SAAB yet, but others have. One of the frequent posters, JEM, has done this with several cars, gets the mating plug from junked Fords - he graciously provided one for me, which I plan to use if it ever gets warm enough to replace non-critical parts (it's been snowing daily here in Chicago).
The thread size/pitch seems to be universal for sensors with threads - some are held in place by other means, i.e. clamps. The rear oxygen sensors on my Audi screw into the exhaust pipe from the top, right behind the cat - I imagine that this is fairly standard. As far as I know, no 1995 car has a rear sensor, it was not required until 1996.
