main seal failure again! is this common?

1995 CSE 245K miles and going strong.

Last year we had the engine & trans out to fix oil leaks everywhere, new engine mounts and seals for the transmission. Basically since the car runs so well we wanted all the leaks GONE to due to our new drive way.

We'll here we are 1 year and 2 months latter and I have a pretty good leak which is most likely coming from the main engine seal at the transmission, again.

Does this sound par for the course for car that does 25K miles a year? I really don't see us spending the $$$ again to fix this leak so it may be the 9000 last year. Will this get progressively work until a big failure or will it drip lightly forever. I know my Porsche Boxster will have a catastrophic failure once the main or crank seal starts leaking.
