Not at all. As long as you still have the lower cover on the subframe and proper sealing around the headlight/corner lamp/grille (by proper I mean as the car was built), then you should be fine. What little water may get into the area which houses the filter should not be an issue. The area inside the fender is so large that the filter is not in danger of sucking any water in. The chances of water directly hitting the filter element itself are extremely low, and even if it does, it will be isolated and dry quickly. So no, no danger of water intake.
