Guys, thanks for the input.
Well, I re-read what I posted and maybe I wasn't quite clear on what was happening.
Boost occurs properly, but when I backed off the gauge stopped at about mid-way even tho I was at just above idle. So, tonight I could not get the symptom to reoccur, however I rapped it up to full boost, then coasted at idle and the engine died just like the BOV failed to activate.
The BOV does work- at least I tested it and no vac leaks and the valve opens then seals.
But, I am wondering if it is an intermmitant failure. Anyone ever had one fail- sometimes? They are such simple devices. The one I have is about 5-6 years old and is the newer Bosch unit.
Every scenerio I work out seem always to point to the BOV, but the dang thing seems to be ok. I don't know- I hate to just throw parts at it.
Thanks to all,
K
