I don't have my car log with me right now, but I believe it was about 131K. Stopped at a farm stand, wouldn't restart.
My approach would be to have AAA Plus. You get 100 mile towing to the destination of your choice. Yes, the fuel pump could give out, but so could a bunch of other things. This way you could get the car home and fix it on your own time. Actually, I have AAA Plus. I've had three breakdowns that required towing - two were just a few miles from my home (within the 5 mile 'standard' AAA membership), but one was 90 miles away - that paid for itself for a few years. In all cases I was able to get the car back to my driveway where I could fix it.
The other thing to think about is the ignition switch. I want to write a post on these, but I've seen a rash of ignition switch failures. Probably won't leave you stranted, as they seem to be a 'fiddle with it some' to get it started issue. But at this point, I don't think I know of any of my 9000 buddies with a '95 or newer that hasn't replaced the ignition switch.
