intermediate pipe

Coming back home after two weeks out of town, my younger son told me the exhaust on the 95cse he drives was dragging. Little did I know How bad it was until I looked at it over the weekend. Both hangers on the resonator were shot. The cat converter support to the rear of the engine was broken. So the whole exhaust was supported by the hangers at the rear bumper and the turbocharger exhaust flange.
No wonder the exhaust is dragging.
The problem cascaded. It broke two of the three studs on the turbocharger exhaust flange. The braided hose on the intermediate pipe behind the cat converter got damaged because of contact with the ground.
I replaced the turbocharger Sunday. The intermediate pipe is on order from Eeuro. Fixing the exhaust is like any other job when you have all stainless steel nuts and bolts, just unbolt and bolt again. Although I have to deal with the occasional galled bot and nut. But still it is better than cutting the bolt off with a reciprocating saw or the Dremel tool. I can alway brute force it to twist the bolt to break.
Now my question for those have attempted the exhaust job. You know the intermediate pipe is not straight. It has a curve to it. Shoud the curve be upward or downward when it is connected to the pipes? Or it does not matter.
