Bill, I'm as sure as I can be. My roommate is an EE and he had an older co-worker do it, and installing and checking MOSFETS and circuits is what they do for a living. My roommate watched the operation and swears it went off without a hitch, with the transistors installed properly.
He used 3x MTP3055V transistors, which I'm told are the correct type (according to a MOSFET-replacement guide on another site that I can't list here). I've also heard of people using MTP3055VL - is there a significant difference?
All of the measurements listed are indeed from the pin to battery ground.
