I forgot to say that if the igntion is on, then the ECU is also on, and the measurements will not be correct because the circuit is enerized. Resistance is measured by running a small current through the circuit and measuring the voltage drop; if the circuit is being powered it will throw off the reading. The car needs to be off when making these measurements.
I doubt that there is much difference between the -V and -VL transistors.
