bic...I've had some funky stuff go on with the radio on the car, and found the cluprit to be a faulty connection of the "Face" to the rest of the radio. If you pull the radio out and look at it, the whole black plastic front of the radio is held to the metal body by a few plastic clips around the perimeter. Separate those clips, and the whole front of the radio pulls away from the body. The connection between the two is a 2-row, probably 20-pin male/female header that craps out over time. I've had lights but no sound, no on/off function, etc.
Hate to say it, but usually whacking the thing with the butt-end of a screwdriver restores connection!!!
