Using the seat crank is not an easy thing. Open the rear door, and look down underneat the seat. The seat motors have a little hole in them (on the flat end of the motor cylinder.) You stick the crank end in there. That's why the seat crank is different - it has to be longer to reach, and it has to have the spring on it to be able to bend - it's tight under there. And you have to crank at lot - the motor has a high gearing, so it takes a lot of turns to move the seat a little. The crank isn't intended to be used other than in an emergency. It also comes in handy if the motors fail, because to remove the seat (to gain access), you need to move it some to access the bolts that hold the seat rails to the floor.
As others have noted, look in the toolkit for a long (10" sounds right) crank with a stiff spring on it. And get out your knee pads.
