your conclusion is incorrect.
I dissected same motor when I removed it from the car, and the broken gasket on the timing cover end of the main oil gallery was plain to see. It resulted from my forgetting to tighten the alternator tension bracket bolt (which goes through the bracket bushing, the timing cover, and threads into the block). This allowed enough space to open up that the paper gasket failed under the oil pressure (and other things).
Not all oil pressure loss will be catastrophic. It can be gradual, and take time.
I certainly don't think that every car needs extra gauges. but if an enthusiast wants to install them, why not?
