Looking for input on the differences between the monotube Bilsteins and twin tube Bilsteins and stock Sachs. What are your experinces. Put monotube in the front of a 1997 Std. Aero (lights seems to be pitched lower and the car only has 124K) and am looking for replacements for a 1998 9000 cse auto.

First question is do I need Bilstein shocks in the rear of the Aero to balance the car?

Second questions is what would people put in the 1998 9000 CSE if you had a choice? (103K but came from NY, must be very rough roads since I've never have seen a bad strut in NH before 150K unless you do a stupid curb hit like I did in the Aero)

I bought the 98 4+ years ago so I would have a 9000 for quite a few years going forward and let it sit since 2006 on a dirt driveway and now have very rusted calipers with at least one frozen. The beast started almost immediately with a new battery even though the gas tank was at 1/4 and sitting for 4+ years without being started. It started like a daily runner and I was pleasantly surprised.

I don't have a sig file but have owned and personally fixed in past years many, many Saabs since my first 1965 Saab 96 three banger, add another 2-3 V-4 96s, a few 99s, a couple 900Ts, and 3- 9000s, 89-9000t 93-9000CSE 93-9000 Aero( most got wrecked by others I was at fault with the Aero)and the present 2-97s 9000 CSE/Aero and 1998 CSE . I love my old Saabs and hope they shake the GM curse. My opinion is that the 9000 is the last true Saab unless the new Saab gets back to the old business. Where's the hatch? The 96s even though they had a trunk lid allowed you to knock the back seat down and had an option for sleeping in your car. I've hauled logs out of the woods with a 96 and went places 4 wheel drives couldn't go in the day.
