Please excuse me for posting this on both the 9000 & ng900/og9-3 boards as it deals with a T-5 turbo boost issue that I would be ripping my hair out and/or it would be turning gray if I had any.
I have a 1999 9-3 auto with 178K miles. Experienced the classic bad BPC issues of mid-yellow boost. Bought a used BPC, put it in the car & got full boost right into fuel cut out. Came back to Saabnet & read some more, learned about resistance testing the BPC (which I hadn’t & the new one tested bad). At least I knew the system can handle the pressure, (i.e. no lose or broken hoses & the waste gate will stay shut). Contacted the guy, & he sent me new one, and that one had good resistance. Put it in and still mid-yellow. Came back to Saabnet & read some more, posted some & someone pointed me to checking out under hood 7.5A fuse 13 for the APC (old name for BPC), and a DIY for repairing the ECU on a T-5 9000. Yup, the fuse was blown. Replaced it. Right away I noticed a difference in the car & when I was able to get on the gas… right up to a little past mid-yellow & then back to mid-yellow. Fuse was blown & so was the BPC. Today, I finally got around to replacing the 3 FETs (3055VLs) in the ECU that control the BPC, replaced the fuse, and replaced with another used BPC that tested good & went out for a drive. Once again the car seemed different and when I was able to get on the gas once again right up past mid-yellow & then back to it & refused to go past. However, this time the fuse is not blown and the resistance across the BPC is good.
Can some one please help!
