Thanks. Yeah I know the gauge isn't really showing the real temperature but is damped and shown what the computer thinks it should show. It would be interesting to know how high the coolant temp has to be, before it goes into the upper third of the gauge...
Well the car is old, so the chance of pin hole leaks being present is high. I'll search for leaks and check the coolant temps after changing the radiator and thermostat, and report back after Easter.
