Exactly my experience. I was guiding the window with one hand while operating the switch with the other. Then just the other day, a pop, and the window was inop. I could hear the motor running while I operated the switch. Taking off the door panel, I can see that the tack weld has failed, and that a plastic clip which holds the cable of the window regulator to the support for the window glass has fractured. Considering DIY as well.
