I have definitely committed to buying a 9000 to complement my 900, but I'm just wondering what the advantages and disadvantages of certain years are and also what the most recommended sport mods are?
As far as what the car will be used for: mainly country roads as a daily driver and long 200+ mile all freeway drives once a month. The roads are extremely twisty up and down hills with varying speed limits and a few of them are pretty rough (potholes etc). The faster I can safely take the roads the better so any mod that helps cornering, braking, or accelerating is going to be worth it. I am looking to get the most bang for my buck though.
I know with my 900 recommendations are generally steering rack clamp and brace, koni sport kit from genuinesaab, 6 point subframe brace, rear sway bar + whatever neccesary mods for the tune your running.
I have the wife's permission to make this as sporty as I'd like so I'm taking advantage of the green flag while I have it! I plan on running around stg 5 so I'd like the handling and braking to be able to keep up with the power.
Thoughts?
PS: Genuine Saab doesn't seem to have as big of a selection for 9000's as it does for 900's - are the cars just built better to begin with or is there another site for performance upgrades?
