everybody has their fave hobby horse/opinion . Realy should go to ECU project.com and download, then.. read.. the Trionic 5 pdf.
ALL the engine perf info in accurate concise form.
DIY your ECU If you choose to.
No need to pay someone to do a similar or lesser job :-)
For max per/handling shocks are a good start. Buy Konis .. only. If that pleases then fit an SAS rear bar.. Only :-)
Smaller diameter rims are THE way to performance handling.
Less rotational weight of smaller rims far outweighs ANY benefits from larger rims & low profile tires.. true. Problem is, with our current culture's fixation on 'bigger is better' that leaves tire choices reduced for the OEM 15" rims.
OEM brakes are ATE (oem bits are as 'good as you can buy' despite beliefs to the contrary). Fine by any considered yardstick.
Drilled/slotted rotors are boulevard posers.
Ferodo /mintex pads stop a bit better should you ..genuinely.. Need an improvement.
Avoid Poly U bushings. Been there done that.. then removed them.. true. But Hey!! it's your voyage of discovery and your $ :-).
Having said all that a prosaic Accord 4 dr V6 engined Sedan... can leave your street modded Saab for dead.. pretty well anywhere, anytime.
So don't blow the kid's college fund OR expect Caterham Super Seven performances after ALL your mods/$$... Just a v nice old guy's car.
