when my Heater Core failed (castastrophic foosh of coolant & steam) in my 97 cse I still needed to drive the car until the replacement heater core arrived.
Bought two 90 degree 1/2 inch diameter copper plumbing elbows (one female/female & one female/male) from a hardware store. Glued them together with epoxy to make a 180 degree connector.
Removed the aquarium cover and pulled the heater hoses off of the heater core - slid the copper plumbing connector into the hoses (perfect spacing) and tightened down the hose clamps. Coolant just circulated back around. Worked well for the two weeks it took for the parts to arrive & I had time to install them. Grateful for the heated seats.
