Changing the engine mounts may change the alignment of the gear selector mechanism. There is a fairly straightforward procedure to reset the alignment: you put the car in the proper gear (forgot which one), put a large nail in a hole on top of the transmission, another one near the gear selector (after removing the rubber or leather boot). Loosen the shift coupler, let it move into place, retighten it. After I had my trans replaced, this was a necessary procedure to access all of the gears.
