The automatic Aero has exactly the same engine spec as the automatic full-pressure CSE, and that includes the ECU. And the ECU is the same in manual and automatic CSEs, excepting the 225 bhp '98 manuals - it's just that in auto versions the ECU is "told" that it's in an auto each time it's started. So sadly, there would be no difference, good or bad
Auto drivers can cut or interrupt the wire that tells the car it's in an auto and thereby gain higher boost levels, but clearly that doens't help you either
As Noel says, a good software upgrade could be the way to go - but as always, make sure you have a well-controlled suspension setup and proper tyres too!
