Solved: Clogged or bad BPC Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 3 Mar 2012 19:54:41 In Reply to: Re: Base Boost-Question on measuring ECU driver transistors, BobS, Fri, 2 Mar 2012 20:42:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Made some additional electrical measurements and everything checked out fine. I had a spare working BPC solenoid, put it in and now have full boost again - whee! The old one "ohms out" OK and I can hear it buzzing when installed in the car, makes a click when 9V is applied to either coil, but it doesn't seem to work. It's currently soaking overnight in Fantastik, I'll see if it makes any difference.
I guess that I don't understand the failure mode, may have to take a dead one apart to see - I have one with a shorted coil too. Does the little "puck" get worn down and leak air?
