My daughter had my car out west last summer and the clutch was shot. While it was in at Walter Wong's he also did the lower mounts. The new front lower is stock liquid filled, rear lower is solid, tranny mount is poly. Then poly bushings in the rear control arm. This makes an amazing difference in the car's feel and handling.
HOWEVER...
She'd had the car out west for about a year and I hadn't seen the car in all that time. Stuff had been wearing, notably the lower mounts, which were original at 183K. While the upper mount was fine (poly front, rubber rear) the extra engine motion from the failed lower mount had cracked the mounting bracket that holds the dogbone bushing. All was well for two months after the clutch was done, but it showed up with hard shifting and a snapping noise when she was driving back to the east coast. A quick weld job in St Louis fixed the problem. But the point is that if your lower mounts are bad, you should look at all the mounts and make sure everything is in good shape, even a few weeks after you do the work.
