On my '98 CSE, if all three hoses to the BCP valve are unplugged, I boost well into the red, but I back off the throttle before it hits fuel cut-out. I had a failed valve once before that allowed it to hit cut-out, and it isn't fun. To re-plumb as a lpt (base boost), connect the "W" hose and the "C" hose. I picked up a brass hose connector at the hardware store (1/4" if I remember correctly) that I'm using right now while I'm waiting for my T5 to T7 conversion.
