So, my coolant system started getting more pressurized than would otherwise be normal a few weeks ago so it's time to do the head gasket. I've done this at least twice on older 9K's (both 87's) and know there's more to it on this lovely animal. Good thing is I found a DIY service garage about 30 miles from where I live in Rocklin, CA. Pretty nice setup with lifts and tools. Made doing the rear exhaust a couple of weeks ago a snap. I'm pretty certain I'll do the work there the only challenge is to get it done in a day otherwise I have no way home. Although I'm not supposed to work on our cars at our apartments I may just need to do it there in the event I can't get it done in a day. I've read through the write up on the FAQ page and will probably print it out to use as a guide.

For the serp belt tensioner I'm going to use a C-clamp and hope that keeps it all together well enough as I plan on replacing the belt, timing chain, chain guide, and main seal behind the harmonic balancer. Anyone had any major issues using a c-clamp on the tensioner?
