Was rear-ended on the DC Beltway a couple of years ago - not too bad of hit. Upon closer examination, the jolt of the accident broke the right rear shock tower which was already weak from rust. Left tower was rusty as well, but didn't break. I found a DC shop (Swedish Motors in Falls Church) to reweld both towers for around $700. Car started life in NJ, then I purchased it in DC in 1996. Car has 367,000 miles and has been sidelined due to some inspection issues that will cost $$$ to repair.
