I don't know how much is needed or not needed.
My assumption (right or wrong) is that if I'm running an ACEA A3/B3 oil in a turbo engine and not experiencing any issues that it's probably OK. There may be some long term wear issues that I'm not aware of, but so far things seem fine on all four cars. And at the age of these cars (with the possible exception of the '03 9-5 at 138K) it probably doesn't make a lot of difference anyway.
