What secures the plastic end of a '97 cruise control cable? Posted by sam96CS [Email] (#852) [Profile/Gallery] (more from sam96CS) on Fri, 21 Jul 2017 17:09:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've had no luck finding a used 3rd generation '98 cruise control module (SAAB model 5038849) for my '96 9000.
I have a 2nd generation '97 cruise control (Saab model 4663515). The plastic end of the cable is a different design from the 1st generation '95-'96 module (Saab model 4433108).
The first generation has plastic spring ears that hold the plastic end of the cable where it passes through a steel plate. A zip tie is added there to make sure the cable can't back out.
The 2nd generation module's cable doesn't have the plastic spring ears. It is designed to attach a different way. Maybe with some kind of clip? Does anyone know?
Alternatively, is it possible to attach the cable from a 1st generation module to a 2nd generation module?
