Noel, if I was still nearby I'd give you a hand but I'm in MI now. I did the HG on my 97 CSE by myself after it was run dry on the interstate. It's not horrible. Pull the cam cover and look at the sprockets for wear. If you use synth oil it's all probably fine. Exhaust studs suck but I replaced mine with SS threaded rod and brass nuts with lots of never sieze. Pop the lid and take a look. You can make the call after you peek.
