That's the amperage of the fuse, probably chosen to prevent the main wiring harness from burning up in the worst-case scenario. In this case the connector protected the fuse.

I'll go ahead and compare the blower current draw on the two cars. If about the same it's probably safe to assume the problem was caused by corrosion, otherwise I'll just have to man up and replace the blower again.

The other 9000, by the way, had the blower motor replaced just a couple of years ago and there's minimal mileage on it since then. (That car is not used much.) So it's still almost new and should be a good basis for comparison.
