It's the wiring/plug Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Wed, 6 Jun 2018 10:34:42 In Reply to: Check the wiring first, Bill Homer [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 5 Jun 2018 19:47:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Got the connector apart and it's damaged from heat. Also although the resistor pack seems otherwise OK one of the pins is loose due to plastic melting around it. The fan comes on immediately when wiggling the connector , though of course I'm not going to operate it this way.
Eeuroparts has the resistor pack in stock, in fact right now the Genuine Saab part is less expensive than the aftermarket KAE part. Both are made in former Axis countries (Japan for the Saab part, Germany for the KAE part, so there doesn't seem to be a reason to prefer one over the other aside from price.)
However I looked through the HVAC and electrical sections and can't find the connector. When searching the only 4-pin connector that comes up is completely different. Do you have a link for that part?
