I think this fell out of my motor when I was taking it apart I don't know what this is. I pulled out a piston and this fell on the ground. The block was on an engine stand with just the Pistons , no head no intake no wiring just a block. I just put the motor back together with a freshly ground crank. Replaced a couple of Pistons. rebuild the motor , the crank had caught a couple of crank bearings and was making metal shavings.I thought I had cleaned everything good enough I still don't have very good oil pressure like seven pounds at idle. Once it's warm it drops below five.once you give it gas say 3000 RPMs it jumps up to around 25 or 30 but that still seems way low. My buddies going to post the picture for me it'll be up later.since I put the motor together I've taken both of the valves out, the one in the bottom of the timing chain cover and the one next to the oil filter I drain the oil out of the oil cooler, no metal particles. I've changed the oil three times now still not seeing any metal particles, well that's good I guess.that little plastic piece I just don't know what that is I wonder if that has something to do with my oil pressure.but I've been messing with saabs and taking them apart for a long time I've never seen this little plastic piece. But I'm going to guess it's important. The engine makes no sound whatsoever.I have a oil pressure gauge on it I thought it was a bad oil pressure gauge so I changed it out for a different one that made no difference. I don't have a sender on the motor it's an actual tube that plugs in and pressurizes the gauge inside the car I checked for kinks in the line there are none maybe I'll just replace that line totally to make sure that is not it.but I can actually see the line through the firewall all the way to the gage and there is no kinks.when you unplug that gauge inside the car and just left the oil come out of that line it's definitely not coming out very fast. So I'm pretty sure the oil pressure is low. On a good note all the air conditioning stuff I put on is working and the car blows ice cold.
