Just wanted to post a followup that this process is still ongoing. The mechanic I'm working with could say it far more eloquently and technically than I can, but the issue is starting to look like the ECU itself is fried out. And of course being a TCS manual version, and a 1995, finding an ECU has been tough so far. Part number is 43 02 378 if anyone has a lead out there. Thank you!
